Marston's PLC is committed to making the content of this site accessible to the widest audience, regardless of technological or physiological impairments.

W3C Standards
This site’s code has been built along the W3C’s (World Wide Web Consortium) guidelines for XHTML and CSS in an effort to ensure correct display in both current and future browsers.

Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG)
These guidelines explain how to make web content accessible to people with disabilities. This site has been developed in accordance with WCAG version 1.0 and strives to comply with "Level AA". We recognise that due to the age these guidelines that absolute conformance may result in hindering accessibility, therefore we note following checkpoints as exceptions:

Pre-filled form fields
Checkpoint 10.4 of WCAG 1.0 states that "Until user agents handle empty controls correctly, include default, place-holding characters in edit boxes and text areas.”

Research has shown that some modern screen readers can have issues with pre-filled form fields. For this reason we have opted to leave fileds blank but ensure that they have explicitly associated labels.

Access keys
Checkpoint 9.5 recommends providing keyboard shortcuts to important links. These links, or "access keys", often conflict with browser or user shortcuts. Therefore we choose not to include them on our site.

Javascript print functionality
Although a non-JavaScript method is not available for print functionality users can still resort to the browser’s in-build method of printing should they require.
